A team. A love of the game.

Before BDG, there was Black Doggies—a name our group chose almost at random. We joined tournaments under different team names until one championship win gave us a reason to keep this one. Black Doggies had won, and the name stayed.
Eventually, entering tournaments was no longer enough. We wanted to create that experience for others, so we organised our own. As the team grew into a wider organisation, we rebranded as BDG. The name changed; the love of the game stayed.
Belonging. Determination. Growth.
From our first tournament to bringing more of the game to the screen.
BDG’s story began with a group of volleyball players and the team that became known as Black Doggies. What started on court became the foundation for everything that followed.
In February, BDG organised its first mixed volleyball tournament. All 24 team places filled in just three days—a response that encouraged us to keep going.
Four more tournaments followed that year, turning our first event into the start of something much bigger.
We organised seven tournaments and four major community events: Merdeka, Halloween, Christmas and LED glow-in-the-dark volleyball. There was more room to compete, celebrate and enjoy the game together.
The team also travelled to Taiwan to learn from other players and bring fresh perspectives back to our own courts.
BDG organised nine tournaments alongside other events, and helped companies bring their people together through volleyball. We were grateful for the trust placed in us as our work grew beyond our own community.
We also travelled to the Philippines for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, taking inspiration from the game at its highest level. Congratulations to Italy, the tournament’s champions.
We expanded into quality livestream production, co-organising the 1 Utama volleyball championship and providing its livestream coverage.
BDG also contributed to livestream coverage at the Shah Alam Invitation Volleyball Championship and SUKMA 2026. Along the way, our YouTube channel passed 600,000 views—another step in sharing the game with more people.
We have helped NXP, Pall Malaysia and Concentrix organise company events. We appreciate the opportunity to bring colleagues together through sport.
Every player, host, organiser, volunteer and supporter has a place in this story. The tournaments matter. So do the friendships, shared moments and reasons to come back.

Our next chapter is a modern, connected volleyball community. We aim to digitise volleyball booking, make sessions easier to discover and join, and help players stay connected to the game and one another.
We will keep exploring, learning and growing—with the same ambition that brought us this far.
Take our love of volleyball to the world.
